Payment Terms

Payment for your enrollment period, including lesson tuition, and signed contracts must be received in full before you will be able to begin lessons with your teacher.

By reserving a lesson time with your teacher, you are making a commitment to complete enrollment. If enrollment is not completed by the time term starts, you will not receive lessons until it is completed. This does not exempt you from paying for lessons missed due to late enrollment and you will not receive refunds or make-up credits for lessons missed due to late enrollment.

Students who wish to enroll after the term has begun, may have their lesson tuition pro-rated and may be offered up to a 25% discount on enrollment fees.

Accepted forms of payment
  • Online payments through your invoice- No additional fees

  • Online payments through Venmo (@junipermusicschool)- No additional fees

  • Personal checks- Must clear our bank account before enrollment is considered complete.

We do not accept cash or bank drafts.

Tardiness

It is the student and parent’s responsibility to make sure they arrive at their lessons on time. Please contact your teacher to let them know if you’re running behind. If you have not arrived by the 10 minute mark of your lesson, you will forfeit the remainder of your lesson. This applies to in-person and online lessons. No refunds, reschedules, make-ups, or alternative lessons will be provided to those who lose their lesson due to tardiness.

Cancellations:

It is the student and parent’s responsibility to make sure they have all lesson, class, and performance dates in their calendar. By enrolling in weekly lessons, you have reserved your lesson time exclusively for you. Your teacher is unable to fill your slot if you cancel. We, therefore, do not offer any refunds or make-ups for cancelled lessons and no-shows. Please CC info@junipermusicschool.com any time there is a change to your lesson type or time, so that the schedule on our site can be updated and so you receive lesson reminders with the correct information!

48 hours notice is required for cancellations and reschedule requests. You may:

  • Ask someone who also takes lessons with your teacher to swap with you. Please let your teacher know after you have swapped.

  • Convert your lesson to an online lesson.

  • A Marco Polo video lesson. You will send your teacher a video of your practise through the free app, Marco Polo. Your teacher will then use your lesson time to send you feedback and practise assignments for your next lesson.

  • Request a reschedule from your teacher. These are not guaranteed and it is recommended that you try a different option.

  • Cancel your lesson. You will forfeit your lesson and will not receive a refund, make-up, or additional lesson at a later date.

Your teacher is busy and may ask to reschedule your lesson. They will offer either:

  • Individual rescheduled lesson (in person or online)

  • Group class with multiple students

  • A Marco Polo video lesson. You will send your teacher a video of your practise, by the requested date, through the free app, Marco Polo. Your teacher will then send you a video with feedback and practise assignments for your next lesson.

  • A written assignment. Examples: an essay on a composer, a theory or aural worksheet, a listening assignment, etc. Your teacher will review your work and email you feedback.

Leaving Juniper Music School

If, for any reason, you need to leave Juniper Music School, we require 2 weeks notice via email or the chat below. You will receive a refund for the remaining paid lesson tuition minus a 25% processing fee. You will not receive a refund for enrollment fees.

Teachers may sometimes need to release a student from their studio. They may:

  • Suggest another JMS teacher. If you choose to move to another JMS teacher, your enrollment fee will remain in place for your enrollment period and you will not need to pay an additional fee. If the teacher you move to has higher lesson tuition than your previous teacher, you will be invoiced for the difference and must pay in-full before beginning lessons with that teacher. If the teacher you move to has lower lesson tuition than your previous teacher, you will receive a refund for the difference of the remaining lessons in your enrollment period.

  • Ask you to leave JMS. If you are asked to leave JMS for any reason, you will receive a refund for your remaining lesson tuition minus a 25% processing fee. We do not offer refunds for enrollment fees.
